Graphene on Metals

Suche

The properties of a monolayer of graphite ("graphene") grown on a metal substrate are determined by the interface to the metal. We investigate the growth of graphene and the structural properties of the graphene-metal interface by LEED and STM.

Further we look at the electronic properties and the interaction betwen the electrons in the graphene and those in the metal surface using Photoelectron Spectroscopy and time-resolved 2PPE. This allows to determine transition rates of electrons from graphene into metal states on the femtosecond time scale.
